Job Description: Development Assistant
Hours/Status: 20 hours/week /Non-Exempt
Reports to: Development Manager
Overview:
The Development Assistant will support the Development Manager in managing and administering the Development Department. The Development Assistant will help administer systems that support donor management and cultivation, grant support, event fundraising and more, and work closely with the Community Partnerships Coordinator to support community outreach efforts. This is a great position for someone looking to grow administrative, development and communications skills.
Pay and hours:
- 20 hours/week, part-time position
- Hybrid position, but the position has some in-office requirements
- $22/hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees organization of the Development Department’s overall files, records and materials, including digital records
Manages Development database (Salesforce)
Manages weekly deposit
Supports Development Manager and Community Partnerships Coordinator in managing department administrative needs
Tracks and codes donations to report to Development Manager and Finance Committee
Regularly generates thank you notes, tax-receipts and other donation acknowledgements
Supports events, including event logistics and management, post-event administration and volunteer coordination
Supports the Development Department’s online and social media communications
Supports the Community Partnerships Coordinator’s community outreach and engagement efforts
Supports Street Roots equity work
Works with volunteers, interns and Street Roots vendors
Participates in annual Board/Staff retreat, and other scheduled strategic planning retreats
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Core Competencies
• Exceptionally dependable with time, records, and money
• Self-motivated and highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and a big commitment to teamwork, communicating regularly and clearly with Development Manager, Community Partnerships Coordinator, and all Street Roots staff
• Proven ability to create and maintain workplace systems
• Able to maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality
• A strong capacity for treating people with respect, dignity, and nonviolence
• A demonstrated commitment to keeping an inclusive, safe, and equitable environment for people across across race, ethnicity, culture, gender, gender identity, housing status, family status, ability and sexual identity; and to Street Roots’ ongoing work around equity
• Strong administrative skills
• Prior fundraising experience is not required; a willingness to learn is a must
Work Environment

This is a hybrid position. Your schedule will be flexible, but mostly during 9am-5pm Monday to Friday; occasional weekends or evenings will be required.
