Episode 1: DeVon Pouncey interviews the Portland commissioner about COVID-19, the Just Energy Transition Initiative, Portland Street Response, and more
On the inaugural episode of the Street Roots Podcast, Portland City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty joined me to discuss the three-part process in regard to the city's efforts to fight the coronavirus.
“Right now our No. 1 priority is keeping people home and safe,” Hardesty said. “It is difficult. This is the worse thing in the world to have to tell people to do. But my health and your health depends on people staying home.”
Hardesty also talks about the Portland Clean Energy initiative, how COVID-19 will affect people in poverty, and more.
She also gives an update on the Portland Street Response pilot: “Our plan was to roll out the pilot in the spring. We may have to not roll it out until the fall.”
